Hakunamatata specialise in intimate garden weddings where the ceremony is held on our rolling lawns amidst lush vegetation. Ceremonies can also be held indoors if the weather does not allow for an outdoor ceremony.

Our Blue skies dining deck area offers comfortable receptions for up to 150guest. Our decor is ultra-modern with an African flair featuring origninal ethnic artefacts. A beautiful ambience is created at night with fairy lights, lanterns and burning torches.

For larger wedding parties, we can accommodate up to 400 guests under a marquee in the gardens, the costs of which will be quoted on separately.

Our honeymoon couples receive one night’s free accommodation including breakfast with any Wedding Package booked! (subject to availability)

When booking your wedding at Hakunamatata, the bridal couple receives the following complimentary treatments as part of their Wedding Package;

Lunch or Dinner Menu Option

R460.00 per person

Book your wedding for a weekday (Monday to Thursday) and receive a 10% discount on the above rates. (Excludes public holidays)

A minimum of 100 guests are allowed for weddings on a Saturday, except during the off-peak season (May to August)

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • A R3 000.00 damage deposit fee will secure your booking and is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation (Only refundable 10 days after your function date providing there are no breakages, damages or outstanding monies due)
  • By paying the deposit, you automatically accept our Terms & Conditions which are available on request.

Venue hire:

  • Venue hire is for a 9-hour duration.
  • Venue hire commences 1 hour prior to the ceremony.
  • Overtime will be charged at a rate of R2,000 per hour or part thereof.

The following items are excluded from the above wedding packages:

  • Table centrepieces
  • Flower arrangements
  • Flower vases
  • Rose petals
  • Tie-backs
  • Décor and draping
  • Overlays
  • Photographer
  • Musicians and DJ
  • Table seating plans
  • Beverages other than welcoming drinks

Please chat to your function co-ordinator with regards to our in-house florist, photographer and DJ. We will also be more than happy to assist you with choosing décor and providing our recommendations in respect of colour schemes, centrepieces and overlays.

Payment Terms:

  • Payments:
    90 Days prior to your wedding, 50% of the quoted price is payable.
    30 Days prior to your wedding, balance is payable in full.
  • Cancellations:
    Regrettably there is no refund payable in the event of a cancellation and therefore the entire amount paid to date will be forfeited

Please take note of the following:

  • There will be an approximate increase of 10% for 2011.
  • Our wedding packages are set packages and therefore non-negotiable.
  • Accommodation for wedding night is subject to availability.
  • Welcome drinks are limited to sparkling wine, sherry and orange juice.
  • All weddings over 150 pax will be quoted on separately.
  • Should you wish to hire a marquee, hiring, transport and installation costs will be payable by the client and
    quoted on separately.
  • We regret no confetti is allowed during the wedding ceremony.
  • Hakunamatata does its own catering and therefore does not allow outside caterers, except for Halaal and Kosher meals, in which event a separate quotation will be provided.
  • Hakunamatata is a licensed establishment - regrettably we cannot allow drinks of any nature to be brought
    onto the premises

Hakunamatata which means “no problem”, is situated 30 min Northwest of Johannesburg in the Muldersdrift / Honeydew area on a fully secured 21 – acre privately owned estate.
